I’m in Birmingham right now getting ready for the show tonight. A lot has been going on lately. First, I’ve got a new band to back me and I can’t wait for ya’ll to hear them! My first show playing with my new band will be in Atlanta at Vinyl on August 6th, see ya’ll there.
This summer is going to be a blast, I’ll be opening for the Zac Brown Band throughout June and July. Also, the record, “Hard Headed” will be coming out this fall so keep an eye out. And of course I can’t forget the Sailing Southern Ground cruise on Labor Day weekend featuring the Zac Brown Band, Michael Franti, Levi Lowrey, Sonia Leigh and myself. Lots of music coming up!

And Saturday night at Merlefest Sonia, Levi, and I will be playing an acoustic set at 11:30 p.m prior to the annual and infamous midnight jam hosted by Zac and the guys! The ship has landed and the sea legs are here. I just got done sailing the carribean with thousands on the VH1 cruise where I was able to soak up some rays, play some music, have an umbrella drink and meet tons of new friends. Not to mention, im pretty sure I was the only man on the ship that gave away over 2,000 personalized Hard Headed Nic Cowan condoms promoting my new, upcoming music….and of course, safe sex!!.If you set sail with us, Im sure you got one! Props to everyone that helped make this possible, I had an amazing time!
Im really looking forward to this summer because Im finally able to play in front of my home crowd again for the first time since October. May 8th and May 9th I’ll be performin at the Verizon Ampitheatre sharing the stage with The Zac Brown Band, Levy Lowrey and Sonia Leigh! its going to be a great time and and our goal is to give away over 1 MILLION copies of the new Southern Ground Compialation cd, featuring ZBB, Levy, Sonia and myself. Be on the lookout….
Also this summer, I will be playing at Summerfest on June 7th opening up for Tonic as well as Bob Snyder. Festivities are gonna be held all weeekend long with great artists and non stop music. Another upcoming show to be on the lookout for is on August 6th at The Vinyl in Atlanta. So pencil me in on your hectic schedule and come out to a show and have a good time like you deserve!
On May 4th, the Georgia Theatre Benefit concert that was held Live at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta will be released on DVD featuring The Zac Brown Band and myself. All proceeds of this show went into helping rebuild the Georgia Theatre in Athens. It was an awesome show and Im glad i was able to help out in saving the theatre!!
I wanna say thank you to everyone who has supported my music and made all of this possible for me. Im living my dream and doing what I love to do thanks to you. Well, I’m chilling in the back of the bus in Santa Barbara, CA recovering from my workout and I figured I’d catch everyone up on the spring tour. California, Nevada and New Mexico have all been amazing! I’ve gotten a good reception from folks out this way on my new record, Cheap Wine. Looks like there’s alot of west coast southerners at heart, it’s been a pleasant surprise!
I only have a few more shows out here in Cali and then it’s back home for a few weeks to finish up the new record I’m doing. It’s called Hard Headed and is being produced by Zac Brown. I really think that ya’ll are gonna like it, if not maybe some of your friends will, if not, well hell..I don’t know what to tell ya, maybe a good table coaster ha. Oh, and don’t forget I’ll be playing on the VH1 Best Cruise Ever mid April! It’s gonna get crazy so if you wanna come party with me on a floating music festival in the Caribbean then check the website out! Well, I’ll hit ya’ll back when I got some new info….be good and if you can’t…..be good at it, out!
